I teach a class of 22 amazing kindergartners who are eager to learn and deserve endless resources, experiences, and opportunities. They come from different backgrounds, have a wealth of experiences, and have a lot to contribute to our diverse learning community. They are eager for knowledge and engaging opportunities to learn.
I have a very diverse population at my school and in my classroom, with at least 50% learning English as their second language.
I teach at one of the most diverse schools in the nation!
The children delight in activities that engage their minds and bodies, and they look forward to what each day of the exciting kindergarten world brings them! It is my job to inspire and motivate them in a variety of ways which reach the whole child. Many students come with challenges including ADD, ADHD, and autism, and it is my job to reach, teach, inspire, and love them all!
My Project
We have some odds and ends needs in our classroom. At this time, we charge our iPads one at a time and there are just not enough outlets in the classroom to manage simultaneous charging. The 6-port charging stations would help us with speeding up the process by charging 12 iPads at a time and result in less wait time for the kids. We need that level of speed and efficiency in our kindergarten classroom.
The privacy partitions are for those times when some children want some degree of separation from the noise and distractions of the classroom.
I have students who need a small place of their own at times and the classroom design does not yield much space. I want to be able to offer them alternatives when they are feeling overwhelmed with noise, distractions, demands, and anything else that may cause them stress or anxiety. The partitions would also benefit students who just want to work on something alone. There are always times we all need that alone time. The rack would be used to store them when they are not in use and make them easily accessible to the children as needed.
We also need an auxiliary cable to play our audio on the classroom speakers so the kiddos can get up and dance to let their wiggles out!
The baskets are for us to organize their classroom supplies such as crayons, markers, scissors, glue sticks, STEM materials, books, and other odds and ends!
