Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my broadcast journalism class are part of a block class that meets for two hours during the school day to produce Jaguar News for the entire school which is a weekly news show.
The students all come from different backgrounds with different levels of socioeconomic statuses and family statuses.
When they are in the classroom they leave that all behind and focus on achieving their goals with the broadcast. It may range from a student producing, to editing, to anchoring.
My Project
The students need odds and ends because our equipment is starting to wear down after the many years of uses. We need audio recording mini booths for voice overs. Headsets for recording voice overs. Screws to replace others that have been wore down on our tripods. The students will be using this equipment for our weekly production of Jaguar News that is sent out to our entire school community. They will able to get better footage with the tripod screws in tact, better voice over audio for voice overs with the sound boothing and the other items will add to their broadcast experience.
With these items in hand the students will be able to carry out their experiences with the class in a more meaningful and efficient way.
The students won't have to worry about things breaking down or sharing with five others so that they can do a recording. We will be able to cover more news and faster!
