In my school, we celebrate diversity in thinking, abilities, and backgrounds.
The students in my classroom are taught not only standards-based curricula, but also the necessity of being caring, respectful, responsible, and safe- even when it is most difficult to do so.
My students genuinely make me smile every day. Between the strong bond that students have with each other and the bond we have together as a whole, it brings hope that this world is in capable hands. Each day they learn and grow to prepare for all that 2nd grade sends their way.
My Project
We have just a few things that our classroom is needed to make our whole and small group lessons even better! Our current flooring is all carpet-even the gym! We are so blessed to get tile floors this year, but we need a carpet to define the whole group learning space. With the carpet I have selected, my students will be able to sit comfortably so that learning will be the main focus.
The students are so looking forward to coming back to school to see the floors and I know they will be just as excited to have the new carpet!
I am also asking for 10 pairs of headphones. We will use these during our small group rotations for individual technology learning.
The last thing I am asking for is a color printer sot hat I can print out books from Reading A-Z for our ELA small group rotations, task cards, and other activities where colored ink really makes the difference.
