My Students

Our students are academically, economically, and culturally diverse. They have a variety of different experiences that add to the diversity in our classroom. Over fifty percent of our students receive free lunch, which is greater than the state average. We were awarded STEM certification in November of 2018. This is a great honor since we are the first public, Title one elementary school awarded in Idaho. The ongoing training helps us to design and differentiate rigorous lessons and learning sequences that are intended to meet the needs of all learners.

My Project

This Oculus virtual reality headset will provide educational experiences in 3D for my students. We are limited with where we can go and who can come into our classrooms, so this headset will provide my students with the opportunity to experience geography, dinosaurs, dig sites, and up closer and personal experiences with the world around them.

This headset widens the opportunities to explore the world around us without leaving our classroom.

Not only will it be educational, but students will also have interest. They may not even realize they are learning while they are exploring.
