Help me give my students the chance to connect with nature on a field trip to the Tennessee Aquarium!

The data tells us that over 93% percent of my students come from low-income, single-parent homes, and the odds are stacked against them. If I only looked at the data, I would be blind to the fact that our students also come to school each day (rain or shine) wanting and hoping to be loved, inspired, motivated, and challenged. They are eager to explore, discover, and learn.
Every day I have the joy of seeing students experience the magic behind making connections.
They are curious and want to know the who, what, when, where, and why of everything. I strive each day to create an active, fun, engaging and diverse learning environment that connects my students to the world around them. I love the spark that so many of my students have in their eyes when they learn something new, experience the great "aha" moment, and exceed their own limits.
Kindergarten is the most magical year of school with the most inquisitive students. It is a time of fairytales and dragons, superheroes and princesses, wonder and curiosity. Every day is an adventure and an opportunity to connect students to the great big world. As a kindergarten teacher, I believe my job is to provide opportunities that allow students to see and be a part of the world around them.
A journey through the Tennessee Aquarium will inspire wonder, curiosity, and appreciation for the natural world.
Recent studies have proven that students need learning experiences outside the classroom. Students living in poverty are less likely to have these experiences if schools do not provide them. Empower students to be enlightened by nature while exploring river waters and ocean wonders through this interactive educational program. It is time to get out of the classroom and move the classroom to the Aquarium.
