My Students

I am an Occupational Therapist with the NYC DOE who works with children from pre-K to 5th grade. The students I service are in a variety of settings, general education, ICT, or 12:1:1. These students all have related services on their IEPs and require a little extra help and support to function at their maximum capabilities within the classroom setting. They would really enjoy achieving their IEP goals with the help of an iPad and the multi sensory approach that it would provide!

My Project

I work with students in the school setting who would benefit from the use of an iPad and it’s applications to enable them to reach their OT IEP goals and perform at their maximum functional abilities within the classroom setting. Occupational Therapists utilize iPads in intervention strategies to address cognition, visual perception, motor coordination, handwriting, and other impairments. The benefits of an iPad are useful for students with special needs for their ease of use, access to information, and convenience. There are many apps also that help multi sensory learners and would be beneficial to the students I service. Please help my students learn functional/ educational skills while also having fun on an Apple iPad!!
