My Students

Majority of our students come from three feeder schools. The school just opened this year and serves only sixth grade students. The school which will be our "forever home" is being built this year next to us. Our school has a diverse population which represents many different cultures.

These supplies would be used with a 125+ students in my science classes and 25+ students in an engineering enrichment program this summer.

I am one of the science teachers at my school with three science classes and three Pre-Ap science classes. There is a wide variety in skill for language arts and math. These skills both impact skills needed to comprehend science. Our students enjoy science but some lack previous exposure to science content.

My Project

Students are becoming more aware of the need for renewable energy. We do several activities, like creating solar ovens and sound walks, in class to show energy conversions. It would be more relevant and engaging for students to use the snap circuits and model homes due to the large variety of energy forms being utilized.

With snap circuits, I can model how to do the lessons which come with the guide and let the students go into the world of exploration as I continue to monitor.

The model homes will allow the students to see it related to the real world.
