My kids are awesome and love to learn. We live in a small, rural area with limited resources. Asking parents to send supplies for projects is not an option for all of them. Some have means to provide while the majority are barely getting by.
These kids have high ambitions and want to follow their dreams.
They thrive on being given a challenge! They are always eager to help others in volunteer work or community service projects. They are self-motivated and responsible. I believe it is my job to provide opportunities to help them grow as individuals and think outside of the box.
My Project
My kids will be using candy and treats to teach other students about recycling and keeping our Earth clean. During museum week we will use the theme of Harry Potter to transform the local museum into Hogwarts. By dressing as characters from the series, students will plan "classes" for others to attend. One will be a music class using the museum's instruments. Students will teach songs based on keeping our environment clean. Another class includes creative thinking by using candy and the wrappers to create art.
How much more fun could a kid ask for?
They will get to dress as a character, sing, play instruments, create art using treats (maybe eating a few too), and learn how to keep our planet clean. These are the things kids enjoy...having fun while learning!
