My students need Osmo Genius kits for Oak Tree's Makerspace. Using these kits, students can explore and discover learning opportunities such as coding, number puzzles, art, word and phonics game, and more.
For our 21st Century learners creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication are integral in our students’ preparation for the future and a fast paced, quickly changing society. Our school is comprised of students with varying backgrounds, interests, and degrees of academic ability. For our 21st Century learners, a committee of teachers within the school are designing a Makerspace. A Makerspace is a designated space within a school that provides hands-on, creative ways that encourage students to design, experiment, build, and invent. Students make, produce, create, problem solve, collaborate, and think using science, technology, engineering, tinkering, or a combination of these areas. As such, a Makerspace must be designed to accommodate a wide array of activities using different tools, materials, and technology.
My Project
This project will lead over 800 students at Oak Tree Elementary School to be innovative, creative, problem solvers. Osmo Genius Kits will be an integral part of Oak Tree's Makerspace Osmo Genius kits that will allow for students to have a hands on experience learning from various activities the kit provides. Using these kits, students can explore and discover learning opportunities such as coding, number puzzles, art, word and phonics games, and more. Students will learn to code, improve phonics through letter and word puzzles, improve problem solving skills and fact fluency through math puzzles, explore various art techniques, and more.
