Being in a Title I school my students have many needs that are unmet. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Giving students alternative seating choices has helped the students in my classroom to find the best fit for their learning style. When I am learning, I find that using a variety of places to sit or stand helps me to focus.
I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating.
They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. Research shows a direct link between movement increasing oxygen flow to the brain and therefore an increase in learning. Adding wobble chairs and bean bag chairs will increase movement during learning activities and will allow the students in my classroom to meet their potential!
