My Students

My students are an aspiring group of kids who are self motivated and looking to change the world. They are the doctors, lawyers and astronauts of tomorrow and their science education begins with me.

Despite our high achievement and outstanding student potential, our district receives very little funding from outside the district.

We are the fourth lowest funded district in our state, meaning money can be tight for buying new science equipment. But my students have been awesome learning science with what equipment we have. They simply want more!

My Project

My students are hoping to replace blowing bubbles in BTB (a CO2 monitor chemical), which can be dangerous. Because some of my students have some issues with food and stability (I teach some students with cerebral palsy), I would rather use a safer alternative in O2 saturation monitors. They're easy to use and I can also use them in our biomedical pathway course!

I want to make sure all my students can access to the new NGSS standards and these meters are just the thing to teach cellular respiration!

They measure the oxygen level in blood and are a modern, safe alternative to BTB.
