Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a school nurse at a school in eastern Washington. Our school serves a very low income population on a reservation. Many of our students come to school each day without their basic needs being met.
They come to school hungry, without proper shoes, clothes, and so much more.
That being said, they work harder than any other kids I've ever met. I am so lucky to do what I do and be involved in each of their lives. We thank you for your generous donation towards helping them be the best they can be!
My Project
The leggings are needed to use when students have accidents at school and need a clean pair of pants for the rest of the day. They will also be great for when students come to school with dirty pants or holes in their pants. These are best as they are easy to put on the students love them. The shirts are needed for when the students have an accident during lunch and need a clean shirt to wear or come needing a clean shirt in the morning. There are times when students get sick at school and also need a new pair of clothes.
Clean clothes keep students in the classroom learning as they can change quickly and not have to leave school to get clean clothes.
It makes a big difference in the amount of time they get to spend in school learning and not missing to get a change of clothing. I hope you will be able to help with this and thank you for your support.
