My Students

Middle school science is an opportunity for students to explore, experiment and get excited about Earth, Life and Physical Sciences. The foundation of individual investigations and experimentation begins in these years of learning.

My students love doing labs with equipment, but there isn't enough to use daily.

They are trying to make sense of their world, making them curious and thoughtful. Middle school students are learning about who they are. Their unique personalities and academic abilities are developing and their need for independence is growing. They live in a time where technology is integrated in their lives and these are the tools that keep them current and relevant. This same technology they use outside the classroom needs to be used in the classroom to ensure their academic success. Our goal is to allow students to use this equipment whenever they need it.

My Project

Students are in need of some basic supplies to collect data in our science classroom. We need calculators to manage data and find averages and we need stop watches to collect measurements of time for our labs. Students rely heavily on this equipment and we simply don't have enough of them to go around. This will allow each lab group to have at least one tool to share between 2-4 of them. Students are not allowed to use their phones for these purposes, so we need to make sure there is enough of this basic equipment to be shared among the groups.
