My Students

My second grade students are a kind, hard working, cooperative group of children. We started off this year determined to make our classroom a community of cooperative learners! The kids embrace each other's strengths and are always willing to lend a helping hand to each other.

They are enthusiastic about their classwork and love to share their ideas and strategies with each other in large and small groups!

It's rewarding to see the students blossom as their confidence builds throughout the school year!

My Project

We are always changing our teaching to accommodate the ever-changing needs of our students. Our current curriculum focuses on a workshop model of teaching. This model requires us to work not only in a whole class group, but also in small groups.

Our class size dictates a need for a conference space that will seat 8 students.

That is why I am requesting a horseshoe table. This will allow me to meet with 8 students in guided reading groups and math problem solving groups. The table I have requested has a special dry erase top, which will allow the children to work right on the surface!

Thank you for your help in obtaining a spot for our small groups to work comfortably!
