I teach every child in our school. That includes over 850 students in grades k-6. Kids with and without disabilities, big kids, little kids, kids who speak English and kids who don't. Our kids have PE 2-3 times a week and look forward to every class. We love to teach through play because all kids learn best that way. Every child deserves to have a quality physical education experience and that means providing instruction that meets the needs of all students!
My Project
Our class sizes in PE are large! We have between 30-80 kids in a class or double class at time. Despite the large class size, many of our class times are only 30 minutes long! This makes providing authentic feedback and quality differentiated instruction super challenging. However, by using technology such as the projector and TV, we are able to display written instructions or visuals such as Gifs and videos for the students. This allows students to reference the screen and become more independent learners while the teachers are able to walk around and provide authentic feedback for performance improvement.
The super bright projector and Big Screen TV will make it possible for all the kids to EASILY see the visuals and instructions.
We currently have a very dim projector; when we use it ,we have to turn off all the lights in the gym in order for the kids to see the image. The TV we have is only 32 inches! A new large TV will allow the kids in the back of the class to have just as an exciting and accessible view as the kids in the front!
