Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come in every day full of questions, wondering what the day will bring to them. They love learning new things and revisiting old skills until they are able to master them. As their teacher, I love to see that "aha" moment happen within them.
My students have a lot to worry about, and having the necessary supplies should not be something a 5th grader has to worry about.
All students receive free lunch at our school. Seeing my students have the opportunity to be 5th-grade learners is something that helps remind them that they can be successful.
My Project
I have two groups of students, who are all hard workers. Our students are provided with free breakfast and free lunch every day, and an afternoon snack some days throughout the week. However, our 5th graders have the last lunch every day.
Writing becomes a difficult time of the day because we start to lose our energy.
With different snacks available to my students, it will make our writing class a lot more productive when we are energized to keep working! The snacks will also be beneficial to send home with students on the days we don't receive an afternoon snack. My students are also able to buy a snack with their Tiger Tickets, which is something they always look forward to!
