Hooray! This project is fully funded
This year I have a truly culturally rich and international classroom, with students from America, Brazil, Iran, Puerto Rico, and the Philippians.
In addition to creating a print-rich classroom that represents the multicultural setting of the classroom, I am trying to add listening materials to enhance the curriculum.
The new listening center materials will help my students from other countries, but it will also help improve the reading comprehension for all students. My goal this year is to provide the tools needed to help all of my students succeed.
My students have a high interest level in science, but they are not always able to read the material easily. I have picked items that will not only keep the students interested in math and science, but the materials will allow the students to listen to the articles which will lessen the reading frustration.
By listening to the stories, my students will be improving their vocabulary and comprehension skills.
The materials chosen will also keep the students up-to-date with the current topics. In addition to the stories, I will also be able to assess their understanding with the provided comprehension sheets.
