Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a low socio-economic background in New York City. My school is a Title I school. My classroom is outside our school in a portable. My class is a special education class consists of 7th graders with various disabilities. My school is a K-8 school and we share our building with another middle school. Their experiences in learning for fun have been limited due to our resources. This project will allow my students to enjoy learning so they can value their education and wear it at the same time!
My Project
These speakers will make a difference in my students' learning because technology is so important for their learning. Currently, the sound on the Smartboard plays very low. It's not really meant for sound. This will improve their school lives because it will create such a memorable mark in their learning. When learning about current events or past history, they will be able to hear what's happening around the world from various websites like CNN for kids and BrainPop. In addition, throughout the day, we play jazz music to help motivate and relax the students through their work. This helps out behavior issues as well. It's a win win. The students will be so impressed by the clear music they'll want to keep working. I've seen a huge difference, especially in a self contained classroom.
This will make such a huge impact that it will make learning even more fun and exciting.
Whether it's math, ELA, or social studies, learning with sound and music will create a much more engaging piece to the puzzle of learning!
