Can you image going to a party without the right dress or suit?
Well our students don't have many opportunities to get invited to the party but when they do, they need the right outfit on.
To have a sports team and not the appropriate uniform is embarrassing and can impact students' self-esteem. Matching tops and bottoms might not mean much to others, but to our student athletes it means the world. They want to look just as good as "those other teams".
I teach at a Title I school in Ohio where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. As teachers, we supplement school supplies for our students
Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to become student-athletes where they have positive social interactions with peers as a part of a team. Furthermore, they have the opportunity to visit other parts of the city as well as meet and make new acquaintances . They come to school eager to learn and participate to the best of their ability.
Students will be able to use technology to gain knowledge and skills to remain healthy for a lifetime. One of the five National Standards states that a physically literate person applies knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness.
Lessons in physical education are more comparable to regular classroom lessons when students are allowed to use computers and tablets.
Technology also affords students the opportunity to be responsible for their own learning as they are free to create and complete assessments online. Further, students are more engaged in lessons when current technology is available.
