My Students

Inquisitive, determined, and enthusiastic are just some words that describe my seventh-grade students. They demonstrate an amazing desire to learn, and I want to do everything in my power to provide these learning opportunities for them.

We are a diverse group, representing readers and writers of all different backgrounds and abilities.

Acquiring the necessary skills to become proficient readers and writers, requires tools and materials that I do not immediately have at my disposal. This is where I need you! With your help and generosity, my students will have access to the materials they need to develop essential skills in Language Arts.

My Project

My students are currently studying novels written in verse. Many of them have made a connection with the book House Arrest by KA Holt through reading previews online. Unfortunately, our school does not have enough copies for students to study this novel for an upcoming book report. I want to ensure my students read high-interest novels that will help them develop a love of reading while also achieving proficiency with the current literature standards.

Having a well-rounded classroom library of high-interest books is very important to me.

The fact that my students have found a book that encourages them to read is very exciting. Some of these students are below grade-level and lack motivation. I want to make sure they have the resources they need to foster this newfound interest in reading. Please help my students gain access to this book.
