Mr. Huebner from Saint Louis MO is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need this toner so that they can have tangible copies of vocabulary sheets and their own visual examples for learning the French language.

To gain the skills and confidence to use French in our lives - this is the goal for my students this year, but how will this come about? Resources are scarce at my school, but I believe this project will absolutely lead my students to success.
My students are 9-12th graders in an urban area of Missouri.
They are from a primarily underprivileged community, in which resources are extremely limited. I have over 120 creative, energetic, and bright students in my French classes. However, as I have gotten to know them better, I have realized that many students do not do well writing down their own vocabulary, even when they see it written on the board. Though their notation might be close, they often misspell, and therefore mispronounce key vocabulary words and phrases. My students would absolutely benefit from a more hands-on education that this project could provide. Having a vocabulary sheet reference with pictures, etc. would allow students to study accurately, waste less time with misspelling, and practice more with the language. The more perfect practice students can get, the more prepared they will be for colleges and universities. Overall, this project would afford unique students a more well-rounded French education.
Each teacher at my school is allotted 2,000 copies per semester. I am the only French teacher at my school, and I serve over 120 students. Thus, I am faced with a serious dilemma, because I am already close to reaching my allotment of copies. We have a printer/copier in our department, but it has no toner. A donation for class toner would allow me to create vocabulary reference sheets for each unit for my students, so that we are not wasting time with copying, and I do not have to worry that students are misspelling, missing accents, etc. They have often asked me for these tangible lists that they can keep and take home with them, yet as of now I am unable to provide them with these resources. Students will be able to study more accurately as these vocabulary lists will be a constant reference for them that they can take home. In addition, my students will have access to more visuals, and can practice note-taking and test-taking skills if they each have their own copies.
Having toner for copies is essential for my students to succeed in my class.
They do not take their books home every night, and having toner would allow me to make copies of vocabulary lists, visuals, worksheets, etc. for them to have on hand. While it is not necessary to have copies of everything, small projects such as the vocabulary references would be extremely useful to my students, and increase their access to the French language.
