My students need a classroom set of "How to read literature like a professor" to enhance their comprehension of complex texts they will encounter both in high school as well as college.

My students are diverse, creative, and out of the box thinkers. These highly motivated, academically competitive seniors are constantly striving to break barriers and shine as prosperous individuals. These multi-talented young adults come from both diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds that bolsters their world view and their drive to succeed in all they do.
Our students do not let the hurdles they must overcome stop them from achieving their goals.
Our school is a Title I school in the middle of a low income community where 100 percent of our students receive free lunch. My group of seniors see an obstacle as an opportunity to prove to the world, "Yes I can!"
A classroom set of "How to Read Literature Like a Professor" will enhance my students comprehension of complex literature they will be exposed to both in my classroom and in college.
This book will help my students reignite the spark for classic literature.
Foster's book will give them the tools to cultivate their confidence in their ability to pick up on the deeper literary meaning found throughout any novel. This book will be a resource for our reluctant readers by breaking down the wall of fear surrounding complex texts, such as Shakespeare.
This book will bolster my students ability to see the beauty in literature. In "a world where a road leads to a quest, a shared meal may signify a communion, and rain, whether cleansing or destructive, is never just a shower."
