Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I elementary school in the less desirable part of the city. What these third grade students are lacking in the pleasurable things of life, they make up for with desire and the will to improve. Although these students do not experience many of the finer things of life, they want to learn. With that said, the majority of these students work hard to be a better part of the community. They want to improve their lives and know knowledge is the way.

In our world, our third grade classrooms, we are a tight-knit group of students.

We work hard every day to learn and express who we are. We are made up of a group of academic support students who push in from their special education full-time classroom, as well as general education students. We are Hispanic, Caucasian, African, Native American, and Asian. We speak multiple languages and need multiple things to help us get through our day. We speak the language of acceptance and love, and that is what holds us together. We work hard from the moment we get to school to the moment we leave.

My Project

As our third grade students come back to school there are many concerns they have as well as the rest of us. Some of them are "Will I be safe, will I be able to learn, will everything be different for me, will I have supplies to learn with?"

We can hopefully, with your help, be able to answer "yes" to all of these questions.

Yes, we can keep our students safe. Yes, we can help them learn. Yes, things will be different. These pencils, folders, erasers and scissors will get us started on the correct path to learning by allowing us to completed math assignments, work on science projects, write about our learning and be productive with the limited time we have to learn. But it is up to you and your generosity as to whether we will have these extra needed supplies.
