The students at my school are amazing! Many of them display grit and resilience while facing tremendous obstacles at home. Our school community prides itself on encouraging and supporting all our families, and push our kids to be their best.
My students come from varied backgrounds.
While some families do well, others deal with high poverty and being homeless. Many of my students live in multi-family dwellings, and struggle to make ends meet. As you may imagine, it is a huge challenge for students to focus on academics in the classroom when they are not sure where you are sleep that evening.
We pride ourselves on lifting each other up, as we strive toward a common goal of developing students who are critical thinkers, innovators, and role models. We have a long way to go toward achieving this goal; however, with your help, I know we can make it. In our class, we live by the motto, "The good you do, will come back to you!"
My Project
Our school is an amazing place; however, we have a problem. Our classroom is windowless! We would like to change that by adding 32 florescent light covers with printed blue skies and billowy white clouds. These filters will help reduce the glare from the overhead lights in our classroom and help our classroom feel open and airy. Students will enjoy, not only the improved aesthetics these filters will provide, but a reduction in eye fatigue, as well. These filters will also help improve student morale and help reduce stress. With your help, these incredible light filters will help us create a learning oasis on campus, where students can learn, grow, and thrive.
