Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a 4th grade teacher in a large urban school system suffering through VERY LIMITED budgeting. Supplies are non-existent and/or very limited! What a teacher needs, she usually has to purchase herself. This includes the most basic of supplies...including notebooks.

A VERY BASIC but important part of learning in my classroom involves a math notebook. This year we started a brand new math program which we love! Our children are FINALLY going back to the basics of math and as a result, are LEARNING. The problem? The notebooks I usually give them are skimpy. Unfortunately, these are the ONLY notebooks I can afford to get in the summer! What they TRULY need is a more meaty notebook. A notebook that can sustain all the hours of learning they put into math. A notebook that WILL NOT run out of paper! This is a problem that occurs every year in about January. The problem is that math CONTINUES to June!

With 5 subject notebooks, the children can keep ALL their learning in one area. It will be more organized and become more of a learning tool than folders, etc would be. It would give them a chance to start REALLY practicing real-life, "big kid" learning.

5 subject notebooks would tie my math program together so perfectly. The children I teach are EXTREMELY humble and grateful for ALL they receive. So am I. After so many years of having to put a HUGE portion of my pay BACK INTO the classroom, this website has FINALLY given me the help I have needed and longed for. THANK YOU so VERY MUCH for considering this proposal. It will go to a very worthy cause: our future.
