Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are from all over the world and are mostly new to the United States. Around eighty-five percent of our students are African-American and the remainder are Hispanic and Caucasian. All of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch. I teach students who are in Middle School. They love to learn but hate to read. They are often frustrated at our lack of available resources such as books, laptops, projectors and sometimes, even supplies! Please help me ensure that every child in my classroom receives the best materials to achieve optimal learning. Thank you!
My Project
One of our biggest problems teaching in the inner city is that we have a lack of supplies. One of the biggest holes we have to fill in with supplies is notebooks. When a student does not have a notebook they find any scrap of paper to write notes down. When they do that they will lose the paper and not be able to study or do classwork.
These notebooks will be used for the students who have no other means to have one.
There are three basic ways of learning seeing writing and doing. A well-organized notebook is used in two or three of these.
