"It's Friday! Friday! Friday! Don't wanna work, I want to play!" This is a favorite chant of my fifth graders who visit at least three classrooms each Friday, singing and being praised for their hard work that they have completed that week.
The students' enthusiasm for celebrating their hard work permeates throughout the entire building.
They are positive role models to the younger grade levels in our school. I really strive to teach my students to be the positive role models I know they can be.
We also have a local National Guard Unit in our area and have a lot of military families with parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins serving in our beautiful country. Our staff also has the opportunity to focus on the homeless students in our area by attending workshops and lectures to meet the needs of our students. We are dedicated to helping our students and their families in every way we can.
This project would supply our classroom with the necessary folders and notebooks to teach across the curriculum. We would focus on math and science topics such as financial literacy and environmental science. We also would focus on reading and social studies.
Each student would have an individual folder and notebook for each subject area to keep organized.
It really helps me as a teacher to have a specific folder or notebook for each student. My students love to learn about financial literacy and environmental science. They love to read and learn about the United States too. They always get excited when asked to take out their notebooks and folders to learn.
A classroom can only function properly if it is equipped with the necessary supplies. These folders and notebooks would keep us organized and build on our learning.
