Help me give my students a safe space to come to therapy. We all know how important mental health is these days, especially for kids and teens. My hope is to create a room where anyone feels welcome.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

You read it right, "Not Your Average Teenage Therapist." Why? Because I am unique? Hip? With the times? In all Honesty, who knows! But I do have lot of experience in working with teens in a mental health setting and have pride in building rapport with them quickly. Therefore, I want to hit the ground running for my first semester as a School-Based Therapist, which means I am in need of all things therapy (games, décor, art supplies, books, etc.)

I am blessed to have received rooms to hold therapy for students at two different high schools in Santa Rosa.

These rooms have great "bones," but they need some love and cleaning to make it feel comfy. These items will help me create that safe space for teenagers at both locations. "Isn't therapy all about talking about emotions?!" Not necessarily, sometimes we need an outlet through other means (art, music, sensory stimulation, etc.). Please support this project, being a teenager is hard, going to school is hard, so lets help make therapy less of a stigma and more of a basic need.
