My students that are in the special education program really need vocabulary activities and oral expression activities to enhance their overall language abilities!
My students are involved in the special education program at a Title 1 school in a high poverty area of Oklahoma.
Usually the language items the students see in my classroom are the only language stimulation activities that these children see during the day.
My Project
I have picked out 4 items! One is a set of language boxes that will allow for language enhancement in a fun way! This will help them to answer questions. The second item is another set of boxes that allows for an unlimited amount of prompts for sentence generation which is EXACTLY what my students require at this time. The third item is a mystery box- my intentions with this box is to put manipulatives in the box and have the student use their language to describe the item inside the box. The fourth item requested is a set of language/vocabulary building games to encourage my students that learning can happen in a fun environment. I have always thought I learned more when I was having fun doing it!
