My Students

My students come from a variety of cultures and have different levels of science skills. There are over twenty languages spoken at my school, but science can become a common language for all my scientists-in-training. The school is part of the International Baccalaureate program, which seeks to integrate multiple disciplines in order to provide a holistic learning environment for all students.

My monthly budget to plan science activities, labs, and projects is $0.50 per student.

This fact makes it difficult to plan satisfying, hands-on activities which engage all students and foster their love for learning. Any help received through this website would ensure students are exposed to multiple, true learning opportunities which introduce students to STEAM - science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

My Project

The books requested for this project will help my students get extra practice in the area of reading nonfiction in my science class. While I may not be teaching language arts, my students need every little bit of help they can get. Most of the books deal with learning about our Solar System and will be used for my students to create a travel brochure for one place they would like to visit in our space neighborhood. The other books will be used by students to work with their small groups and present to their peers. Thank you for your willingness to help build up my classroom library.
