My Students

My students are kindergarten and first grade special education students who are in a self-contained class. My students are unique individuals with different learning styles and needs. However, one thing they all have in common is that they love books!

These students work so hard every day, despite their disabilities.

Since we are a bridged class, some of the students will be remaining in the same class next year. They are excited to return in September to continue our learning adventure together!

My Project

Help us move up in our reading levels with highly motivating Level C nonfiction books! We have already received level A-B fiction and nonfiction books and level C fiction books. Now that we are moving up in reading levels, we are in need of more books to complete our level C collection. I am so proud of the progress they are making and want them to continue to become better readers and to increase their academic confidence. These books will be added to our classroom library to enhance our choices by adding nonfiction to our level C book collection. As of now, we only have Level C fiction books but many of the students are more motivated by nonfiction.

More nonfiction choices will help students reach their reading goals.

Nonfiction books are of high interest to my students. Adding nonfiction books to our level C collection will motivate them to keep moving up in their reading levels.
