My students need a netbook to have universal access to the Internet and other technology.
This project expired on February 28, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Help us to provide access to multiple resources with a Netbook. With only one teacher computer in the classroom, we have yet to uncover the wealth of resources available on the Internet.
My thirty first graders are eager and curious learners.
They are fun and active! My class is a very diverse group, coming from various cultures and backgrounds. Our school is located in a suburban neighborhood where children live in single family homes, apartments or mobile homes. A few of the children do not have access to the Internet at home, and giving them access at school will be a great experience.
With our district focusing on the Common Core Standards, we will be studying more nonfiction in both reading and writing. We will be able to learn and research together nonfiction topics with our Netbook connected to our classroom projector. Can you imagine thirty students crowded around my one teacher computer? With the technology standards increasing, and our students being required to access digital literacy, the Netbook will get us on our way! I am envisioning watching a butterfly emerge from a chrysalis right before our eyes, or a video from our field trip to the farm. It will be a wonderful shared experience for us all!
Please help our classroom, located in the heart of Silicon Valley to be up-to-date!
Having a Netbook connected to our classroom projector will allow all the students, regardless of their reading level at the time, equal access to new and exciting information. Our school has about 580 students and your donation would help many classes for years to come!
