My students need some great nonfiction book choices for our library! I just know they will love looking through these hardcover books about bugs and birds!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Welcome to the Crescent City: New Orleans, Louisiana! The culture is overflowing, from the French Quarter to Lake Pontchartrain, resulting in a widely diverse classroom. My students come from a small area along the Westbank.
My students are not only learning academics, but they are learning about character, responsibility, and how to make friends.
We find joy in every day, through small art projects to large STEM projects. We set high goals and persevere until we go above and beyond!
My Project
My students will be introduced to the wonderful world of nonfiction literacy. Our current classroom is severely lacking any books representing the world that we live in. These books will give my students a better sense of the amazing world we live in, while growing a love for reading. It may be the beginning of the year, but my students are already asking to read books all of the time.
I know these books about bugs and birds will enhance our classroom library and may even inspire some new book lovers!
I want my class to have the same literacy opportunities that I received when I was in first grade. With all of the colorful pictures and the long-lasting hardback covers, I think these books are the perfect choice!
