My students are eager to learn new things daily. My students come from a Title I school setting which is 100% CPE free breakfast and lunch. My students are excited to learn and are hardworking in a varied academic range.
Students in the 2nd grade need the opportunity to read non-fiction materials to assist in learning and to instill the importance of all types of genres for reading.
Non-fiction gives students access to both print and digital copies for students to become more proficient readers.
TIME creates an understanding of what is going on around them, the opportunity to be creative in problem solving, and developing empathy. TIME for Kids allows students to get involved in the global world.
My Project
Students will have the opportunity to read nonfiction daily with these materials! Students need to see the different genres and have the opportunity to grow in their reading using these materials!
Nonfiction books paint a picture of reality and allow students to learn facts on multiple subjects!
Students always ask questions about animals and about nonfiction items and they need the materials to answer their various questions! I would like to give students this opportunity with these nonfiction texts. There is a variety of text requested so students can research and understand more about these important subjects! Students will also have the opportunity to do guided reading with assistance from the teacher!
