I'm a New York City Teaching Fellow, and I teach English as a second language in a Title One school in Brooklyn. My students come from all over the world and speak many languages. I work with small groups of students from kindergarten through fifth grade. I would like to introduce my students to non-fiction through "Weekly Reader." My kids love to read "real stories" (not "fake stories," as they call fiction.) "Weekly Reader" will introduce them to American traditions, current events, and holidays. I also think it would benefit my students and their families to have their own copies of "Weekly Reader" to bring home. Most of my students do not have many books at home. They would be excited about having their own copies to read in class, and later to share with others at home. My students and I would really appreciate your support. Thank you.
