My Students

In our classroom, we have a beautiful group of students that come from different communities, families, and lifestyles. We have 14 6-7 year old students living in the Asheville area. In our classroom, we value our differences, sharing stories from our homes, our likes/dislikes, and who we are.

Our students love to learn and explore topics from all around the world.

We are a global school and encourage our students to learn with the world and not just about it.

My Project

In our classroom, we spend lots of time studying nonfiction book elements and using these books to learn about a variety of topics, including holidays around the world, space, life cycles, and more! We need leveled nonfiction books to increase our supply of books for learning.

These books will help these topics come alive for our students.

Currently, we are able to print off some passages online for students to read, but we do not have enough resources for every student to have bound books with color pictures that are on their reading level.

Through this project, our students will be able to all have equal access to learning about and using nonfiction books on a daily basis!
