Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
First grade is such an exciting grade to teach because students are so eager to learn. To watch them develop into great readers and mathematicians during the year is the highlight of my teaching. My students are so excited about school and love learning to read. They are inquisitive and love to gather as much information as possible. Despite many challenges they face, they are always enthusiastic and excited about coming to school to learn. Their favorite genre to read is nonfiction and they will be thrilled to receive new books for our classroom library.
My Project
My students will be using there books to research Ocean life and create their own nonfiction books. These are books that are easy for my students to read and gather information from in order to complete their own nonfiction research books. By having access to these books in our classroom library will allow my students to research many different animals that live in the ocean without having to worry about needing to turn them back into the school library. This will allow my students more time to investigate the ocean animals that interest them. My students will be so excited to learn as much information as possible. I will be using the headphones so my students can get on the computers and go to different websites to learn about Ocean animals.
