My students are autistic and some are non-verbal. They all can communicate their own way. Some with pictures, some with devices and some with words. A lot of students have sensory needs. My school is a specialized school for students with special needs.
My students are looking forward to being high-level learners!
I learn something from them every day! They are energetic and need movement and sensory input throughout the day to learn. It is built into their own personalized daily schedule.
My Project
The students in my classroom tend to dislike loud noises. This will stop them from working. At times certain noises will have an effect on the students so much that they will start making noises themselves to help cancel out the noises.
Having the headphones available to the children will increase focus.
The pressure vest will help make the children feel more comfortable when scheduled ti,e with the vest. When used appropriately the pressure vest gives input and helps the students feel more grounded throughout the school day. Imagine being able to have a comforting hug throughout the day without being touched,
