The students in my school are full of energy, wonder, and enthusiasm. They come from various cultures, speak different languages, and many of their families are struggling economically. They attend a culturally diverse school where seventy percent of the students receive a free or reduced-price lunch in the state of Washington.
Aside from the cultural and economic differences in our student population, you'll find that our amazing students are eager to learn and are trying to build successful lives that will be happy and productive.
My Project
My classroom has been blessed with technology from generous donors such as yourself. This 21st-century technology is a wonderful tool to use during the day when we have working headphones. With COVID-19, every child will need their own headphones to use at school as well as at home for distance learning. I am requesting 20 pairs of headphones for students who do not have them.
Having headphones will allow all students to be able to hear while using technology at school as well as at home.
Our students will use their new headphones to listen to books, for on-line class meetings, to watch videos about science concepts, to play educational games, and to experience 21st-century technology at its best. These headphones are an essential resource. There are many online sites that children can go on and enhance their learning.
Imagine a 21st-century classroom where students can watch or read about a science topic, an animal, or any other concept. Then be able to write, discuss, and/or even share that new learning with others. With working headphones, my students will not have to imagine it. They will be living it!
