My Students

HELP! My students have been displaced due to Hurricane Sandy. We have very limited reading materials in our new school. Please help us.

My children have daily challenges everyday.

They are from an inner-city neighborhood. They are now dealing with the devastation from Hurricane Sandy. Some of my students had homes that were destroyed in the hurricane. Those who still have homes are without power, electricity, and hot water.

My Project

My children have been impacted by Hurricane Sandy. We are now without a school. We have been displaced and are adjusting to our new school. This school has very limited reading materials. My children love to read. My children are used to a leveled library with many of their favorite authors and titles. However, we can't get to these materials because they are at our school that was damaged in the hurricane. It is currently considered a "hazmat" school.

It is so sad to enter a classroom with extremely limited reading material. It would lift my children's spirits if they had a leveled library with some of their favorite books. They have been affected by hurricane Sandy, and it would be delightful to see them smile again. I know that reading some of their favorite books will do just that.
