My students need their own individual guitar to learn to play!
This project expired on December 19, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are always excited to participate in Music class when we play instruments. We have various classroom percussion instruments but we do not currently have an orchestra program at our school to expose our students to the art of playing string instruments.
The generous donation of guitars would give each student the opportunity to learn to play stringed instruments to expand their learning experiences and build their confidence in playing.
I currently have eight (8) classes that I would like to teach beginning guitar.(4 -Fourth grade & 4 -Fifth grade) Our goal is to learn basic guitar fingering skills to perform on our annual Spring Arts Festival.
MUSIC is what brings my students together. They come from all walks of life, and have many different personalities and interests. My school has a high rate of low socioeconomic students and many parents can only provide limited necessities for their family.
A charitable donation of acoustic guitars and tuners would give each of my students the opportunity to learn to play stringed instruments, expand their learning experiences and build their confidence in playing the guitar. I would like to teach beginning guitar to help my students understand the importance of reading pitched notation and display their basic guitar fingering skills on our annual Spring Arts Festival and at various other programs throughout the school year. As a precautionary measure, I've also included a 24 month replacement plan in my materials needed to cover any unforeseen incidents that might possibly occur during the teaching of our guitar classes.
