My Students

Greetings, potential donors! My name is Mrs. S. and I am a middle school teacher. My first four years of teaching were at the elementary level. I have been at the middle school level teaching Social Studies for four years and I am in the middle of my second year as a middle school Communications and Multimedia teacher.

The school where I teach is a Title I school, with roughly half of the students on free and reduced lunch.

While the school has made huge successes over the past few years, there is always room for improvement. I will be teaching roughly 100 7th grade students in a social studies classroom and about 30 students in my communications course.

My Project

This project is simple: A standing desk! With all the moving around, I find myself constantly hunched over my keyboard to click on the next slide, or enter a grade quickly. With a standing desk, it will easy my time, energy, and back pain!

After all of the craziness and abrupt ending to our school year, I have decided to 'clean house' if you will as I think forward to the 2020-2021 school year.

By getting a standing desk, there will be more room for student flexible seating, and less clutter of having my old clunky desk in the corner of my room.
