My music students support and encourage each other. They are kind, funny, and love to learn. These amazing kids have not allowed their personal hardships to define them.
These young musicians turn their pains and triumphs into works of art that other people can connect with and find meaning in.
Music is a way for them to find success and express themselves freely. Some work hard to overcome their fears of performing, others prefer to write and produce songs, and others are most interested in making their own instruments.
My Project
I am turning my music classroom into a coffee house! The authentic real-world atmosphere will help my students be more relaxed and open to learning. The 30" round cocktail tables will provide flexible seating, and the stained glass window film and sound absorbing acoustic panels will help create the right mood in the room.
My kids will thrive in this real-world style learning environment, and the coffee house will strengthen our school community.
All the students and adults in the school will benefit from this unique space, but my music 50 students will gain the most. We will have open-mic performances, display student artwork, and provide a venue for the vocational students to practice their service skills.
