My Students

I teach 16 - 20 first graders! We live in a small tight-knit community and welcome each student for who they are. In my classroom, we focus on making everyone feel at home. I take a lot of pride in students feeling comfortable to be who they are.

We create a sense of community in our entire school and give each student what they need to be successful.

I love that my students enjoy being in our classroom. They come in and give love to their peers and their teachers. I love the relationships they build and that they don't want to leave our classroom. We truly build a place that feels like home together.

My Project

The environment we create as teachers truly impacts our students and the learning that takes place. In my classroom, I like my students to feel welcome and independent. It will help my classroom feel more like home and invite them in. We will have many "family" meetings and gatherings on it to grow our brains. The storage container will help my students develop a sense of independence. When they are in need of a tool (math manipulatives) I like them to be able to access these tools on their own. The container will keep these tools accessible to them all in one location.
