How will my students view their educational experience?
A culture of learning refers to the atmosphere and energy level in a classroom where students are engaged in important work.
I teach in an urban school which serves 570 students with more than half of our student population coming from low-income families. There are diverse challenges due to state budget cuts.
My multicultural second graders come from various socioeconomic backgrounds, and they have different learning styles. However, their unique personality traits are like a sunset seeing a rainbow for the very first time. I think of them as my inspiring young authors and little problem-solvers. They enjoy buddy reading, social-emotional learning activities, real-world math exploration, and learning how to play the game of chess. My students are also learning first-hand about generosity and compassion from donors like you.
The Hauker writing tablets are a great educational investment for my second graders and future students. The writing tablets are also practical, cost-efficient, environmental-friendly, and safe for kids. The writing pads save 100,000 pieces of paper. It erases over 100,000 times before a replacement battery is needed, which means my students and I can save three trees by using one piece.
The Hauker writing tablet will be used as a fun teaching tool to actively engage students during the following: whole group instruction, small guided groups, and learning centers.
For example, the writing tablets will be used during language arts, math, and science lessons. Each student will be assigned their own writing tablet. Why? It encourages student responsibility to take care of their educational tool. They will also be very proud of helping the environment, saving trees while learning. This is a real-world connection that can facilitate future decisions regarding helping the environment.
No pencil sharpening + No looking for misplaced erasers = valuable instructional time saved. Students can erase by just pushing the delete button on the tablet. Because of your generosity, my students will do the happy dance.
