No More Winter Woes 2018: Warm, Clean, Healthy Learners!
My students need to be warm, clean, and healthy in the fall and winter. They need gloves, chapstick, hand sanitizer, soap, and lotion for the freezing dry winters we have in Nebraska!
Students in the "Highest Poverty" category, often do not have opportunities to follow their dreams. I am all about making the impossible possible and their dreams for the future an obtainable reality. My students come from countries around the world. They have traveled from Africa, Asia, South America, and across North America, as children of refugees and families that move frequently, due to low-income earning ability. The unique and difficult experiences of my students are what make my students some of the most powerful and determined young minds you could ever hope to meet.
My students have experienced adversity.
In our classroom, we rise above it. My students are resilient and brilliant. They have incredible leadership abilities. They help each other and understand the power of teamwork. We build a classroom community and care for each other. When one student succeeds, they all celebrate the success achieved by their classmate. These bonds are forged with time, shared tribulation, and the universal truth that every single student in our class has enormous potential.
My Project
Another school year, another group of amazing kids and another winter of cold weather woes will be here before we know it! In order to properly prepare our students for learning first, we need to take care of their health, warmth, and hunger. This project addresses our student's primary needs.
Winter 2018 woes will begin with chapped lips, continue with cold and dry hands and end with illness due to lack of sanitizer and hand soap.
The materials in this project will help protect students from germs as they use soap and sanitizer. The personal sanitizers will be a hit with students, I'm sure! Gloves and skin moisturizer will help keep clean hands warm and protected from the winter elements that can chap and crack dry skin. Anyone who has spent a winter in a cold and often windy climate will also know how important chapstick is to protecting kids faces from split and bleeding lips.
Our students deserve every chance at an amazing education- let's not let illness and split skin get in their way! Healthy kids are happy kids. Your support will help them stay healthy and achieve academic success!
