This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the best job in the world! I get to spend my days with bright, eager, funny, enthusiastic and ready to learn superstar students. There are many times when I learn more from them, than they do from me. My sweet children come from such low socioeconomic homes, have very sad family dynamics, yet most days come to school with a smile and a hug, then race into the classroom to feel safe and free from worries.

My students deserve the best chance in life to work hard in school and become successful, self sufficient adults.

My Project

My school is brand new this year! It is a language academy that offers dual language programs in French, Spanish and Chinese. The school will focus on a culturally diverse learning curriculum. The school is new, but the building is very old, without a lot of storage. My students will not have desks, but they will have tables, which makes it hard to store their materials and keep track of everything. Having seat sacks will be a game changer for my students.

These seat sacks would be the best thing for my students to call something their own, keep track of their belongings, and practice their organizational skills.
