My students need the HamiltonBuhl Listening Center because they are sensitive to noise and the headphones will help them buffer the noise and also listen to music, a story, and language.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My four students have special needs, which is the reason that they are in a smaller setting. I have three students in the fourth grade and one in the third grade. They are all on the autism spectrum and have daily challenges. Three of my four students are sensitive to noise. When the noise level is too high, they ask for noise buffers. My students can become frustrated when the noise level is very loud.
My students have daily challenges, but they are strong and persistent.
These challenges range from language to sensitivity to light/sounds. They are learning to work with their disabilities and challenges, which make them resilient students. They come to school and strive to do and be their best.
My Project
All my students are on the autism spectrum. They are very sensitive to noise and light. Students ask for noise buffers but the headphones in my class are old and are coming apart. My students enjoy taking the headphones outside onto the yard but they are very bulky and easily seen by other students.
The HamiltonBuhl Basic Cassette/CD Listening Center is necessary for my classroom because I need headphones for all my students.
The headphones will be used as noise buffers since my students are sensitive to noise. The headphones will also be used at a listening center. The listening center is vital for my students since they have difficulty reading and tracking.
