Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For the first time in our school's history, we will have an official Esports team this year that competes under CIF regulations. The students also have access to gaming PCs, the Nintendo Switch, and virtual reality for Esports. In the CIF league, students will compete in Super Smash Brothers, Rocket League, and League of Legends.

Our students are still recovering from the effects of COVID.

This project will help to alleviate the effects of COVID by improving mental health and developing social-emotional skills in the classroom. Students will be able to compete in video games that would normally occur in isolation. Now, however, students will have the opportunity to work together as a team, in person, developing key critical communication and relationship skills. Those skills will ultimately help to improve their social-emotional well-being. It will also help to foster healthy video game habits, as opposed to the unhealthy, addiction-laden, and anger-fueled habits that tend to develop in isolation.

The design files in this project will allow Esports Gear to transfer our logos to their merchandise. Once the logo is transferred, we will be able to buy merchandise from their store. Additionally, the ethernet adapters are to reduce the lag that our Esports teams are experiencing when they connect to the school wifi.
