My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds. They are a diverse group students from varied ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. These are high-energy young people who enjoy movement to get their brain cells working! My students enjoy a structured, yet relaxed, environment that promotes maximum learning opportunities. As middle school students in a block scheduled day, my students have maximum opportunities to move around the room and work with together. Nothing warms my heart more than seeing the smiles on their faces and the lightbulbs turn on!
My Project
When was the last time you were comfortable sitting in hard metal chairs all day? ICK! Students love flexible seating options. I have spent much of my own funds to make some seating options for my middle school students. However, bean bag seating is what they LOVE! Learning becomes that much more fun and engaging when you’re sitting comfortably. Period. My classroom environment is warm and welcoming, and my students know they can be comfortable and learn at the same time! Comfortable is difficult to achieve in a classroom, however. How AMAZING it would be to offer my kiddos some special comfy seating like these bean bag chairs! Oh the smiles!!!!
